DanielAfter 2 years of full lockdown, I did not believe I would travel again and yet, this time came!
Although I booked months ahead of time, i had really no expectation or too much excitement until few days before my trip.
My flight was with WESTJET as i do usually travel using their service most of the time and where the service permits. Believe it or not, the night before which is less than 8 hours before the trip, the cancel my flight to Mexico, leaving me with no options. Trying to call them was impossible with days of wait time.
I was able to book with a competition airline few minutes after the cancellation and got to Mexico on time, and without losing my actual hotel reservation.
3 weeks after I called WESTJET, they refunded my flight in credit but have refused to compensate under the APPR and told me to go to government body to complain.
Anyhow, it goes without saying that once I arrived in Mexico, I had already forget about all the troubles I have experienced the previous 24hours.
At time of visit, it was still COVID time, and you must wear mask in some settings, but there is no drama and breaking (shocking) news about it. Like people there knows the virus exist and try to cope with it as much as possible while have a level of life.
I spent 10 days in Mexico and the time flew way to fast. What was I missing the most?
